The Surface Book was mighty powerful already, but with the new Performance Base option it packs in even more GPU and even more battery. It's more expensive, thicker, and heavier too — but it's got the power.
It has the same 6th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, the same 8GB or 16GB of RAM, and the same 13.5-inch 3:2 PixelSense touch display. But the new thicker base, that packs more battery cells that get up to 19 hours of battery life along with an enhanced NVIDIA GTX 965M GPU with 2GB of RAM that's twice the power of the older Surface Book. That comes in a slightly thicker (22.8mm) and slightly heavier (3.63lbs) package, but it's also one of the most powerful and portable PCs you can buy — though at a starting price of $2,399 it doesn't come cheaply.
