Dell's XPS 27 all-in-one has 10 speakers for some reason

The Dell XPS 27 All-in-One PC has an enormous chin for good reason: there are a bunch of speakers in there.

With ten speakers, it's hard to wrap your head around the Dell XPS 27 All-in-One. This all-in-one sports a 27-inch IPS display, optionally with touch and up to a 4K resolution, Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to a 512GB SSD.

But enough about all that, let's talk about those speakers. It's sure to be divisive design, with six round metal mesh speaker grills arrayed across the bottom of the display. Personally, I don't like it, but I could see how some could — I'm not averse to flashy tech. Those speakers are just part of the full driver array you'll find on the XPS 27 — it sports a total of ten speakers running at 50W per channel:

• 2 tweeters (highs)
• 4 full-range drivers (mids)
• 2 passive radiators (bass)
• 2 down-firing full-range drivers (more mids!)

According to Dell, the XPS 13's array of speakers give it the ability to cover the full spectrum of sound for crystal clear and loud music — twice as loud as an iMac, 10 times the bass of HP's Envy 27.
