If you like to game, the XPS 15 is better than the XPS 13

Best answer: If you want an XPS laptop that's capable of gaming when you're done working for the day you'll be much better off with the XPS 15 instead.

Dell: XPS 15 ($1,499)

Intel integrated graphics can't cut it

Gaming is an intensive business. The processor in the XPS 13 goes up to a Core i7-8550U, which itself isn't an impedence to some gaming, but the Intel UHD 620 graphics are.

For gaming, Intel graphics just won't cut it. There are some games you can play — less intensive titles like Rocket League, Fortnite, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for example, along with some of the more casual titles in the Microsoft Store.

But, for any kind of proper PC gaming experience, you'll be left way short of the mark. Even highly optimized titles will have to run at reduced resolution and graphics, and you probably won't enjoy yourself.

The XPS 13 isn't meant for gaming

The XPS 13 is one of the most compact ultrabooks around. Its striking InfinityEdge display is what first catches the eye, and helps Dell squeeze a 13-inch laptop into the form factor of an 11-inch.

It's a premium Ultrabook designed for people who want a high-end laptop in a highly portable form factor. And it's one of the very best at that. But if you want to double up and do a little gaming on your XPS there is another way.
