Fortnite's Xbox One S bundle has faced backlash, with Epic Games now dishing out free "Save the World" copies to buyers.
Fortnite continues to dominate gaming across the globe with its hit battle royale gameplay. Now touting over 200 million players, it's received widespread acclaim, and now the target of several controversies. The official Fortnite Xbox One S bundle is among the latest, accused of misleading marketing for its digital contents.
All-inclusive themed Xbox bundles are standard practice for Microsoft, distributing its console family alongside leading titles. The $299 Fortnite Xbox One S bundle was poised to be among this holiday's best-sellers, featuring the entry-level console and last-man-standing shooter. Included is a redeemable code for "Full Game + Game Adds Ons," comprised of the free-to-play game, Eon cosmetic bundle, and in-game currency. However, with Fortnite's paid "Save the World" component excluded, buyers voiced concerns over the misleading description.
