Call of Duty: WWII is down to just $38 today only on Amazon

Time to go back in time... again.

One of the hottest video games of the holidays, Call of Duty: WWII, is down to $37.99 on Amazon for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This is the lowest direct price drop on Amazon ever. It beats out the $40 Black Friday pricing. This is part of Amazon's Gold Box deals, so the price is good today only.

Call of Duty: WWII is a first-person shooter that takes place in, you guessed it, World War 2. It's actually a return-to-form for the series because the original Call of Duty games took place back then. Somehow they got away from that and started exploring outer space and futuristic dinosaur parks or something. I don't know, I lost interest. World War 2 games were always where this series shined.

This game has several modes, including a single player campaign that focuses on individual soldiers and specific battles during the war. The multiplayer is always the cornerstone of a game like this and features Axis vs. Allied shoot-outs. Then there's the Nazi Zombie mode, which is a more cooperative multiplayer game.

So far, Metacritic gives the PS4 version a 79 out of 100 and the Xbox One version an 81 based on the average scores from critics.
