Best answer: If you don't already have an Oculus Rift CV1, the Rift S is well worth the $50 price difference. However, if you already own a Rift, the Rift S might not be worth the upgrade unless you want to ditch the external sensors and take advantage of a display with better pixel density and improved lenses. There's also the issue of Rift CV1 availability, which has recently become scarce.
