Best answer: Right now there are no plans for The Division 2 to be cross-platform compatible. Ubisoft has allowed cross-play before on VR titles, but there is no evidence that The Division 2 will join them.

What is Cross-play?
Cross-platform play is the current holy grail of gaming. The goal for a lot of players is to be able to play multiplayer games with their friends regardless of what gaming platform you play on. That means PlayStation players can play with Xbox players, and Xbox players can play with PC players and so on. Everyone can play with everyone.
Back in the day, there were a lot of technical reasons why this was difficult, but with today's games, the only stumbling block is the console manufacturers themselves, as well as, sometimes, the publisher. While Sony has allowed two games, Fortnite and Rocket League, to use their cross-play system, they are still trialing it, making sure that it doesn't affect their business in a negative way.
