Win a preorder code for Black Desert on Xbox from Windows Central!

Black Desert is coming to Xbox One in March.

Black Desert is a third-person action game by Korean developer Pearl Abyss. The title can be classified as a sandbox-oriented massively multiplayer online role-playing game which offers players unprecedented freedom. You need to love exploration and be able to engage challenging enemies in a heartbeat if you want to succeed.

The game takes place in a fantasy setting and revolves around the conflict between the rival nations of Calpheon and Valencia. Up your VR immersion level with a fine HOTAS controller

These controllers have always been popular in the flight-sim world, but they've taken on a new life in the VR world. Games like Elite Dangerous, War Thunder, EVE: Valkyrie, and House of the Dying Sun can all be used with a HOTAS controller, and the immersion level is immediately ramped up when you place your hands on the hardware. Anycubic Photon is an amazing (and affordable) resin 3D printer

Resin 3D printing — often called SLA or DLP printing — is a different animal than the type of printing we normally write about here. It has a lot of barriers for beginners that just don't exist in the 3D printing that involves filament — FDM 3D printing, as it is commonly called — and that can be scary.

The folks over at Anycubic sent us their DLP 3D printer, the Photon, to review, which gave us a chance to dispel some of the myths around resin printing.

Everything Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios is working on right now

Microsoft's growing legion of internal studios is working on a range of games. Here's the full rundown of what we know (and what we think we know) the studios are working on.

Microsoft recently rebranded its internal studio troupe to Xbox Game Studios, to reflect the fact the Xbox brand is moving beyond consoles. Xbox streaming via Project xCloud will bring Microsoft's wide range of games to all-new audiences on mobile devices and perhaps even the Nintendo Switch and other devices.

With Microsoft creating service pillars like Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud to go along with industry-leading hardware, more than ever Microsoft needs a stable of high-quality titles to drive home the quality and value of its subscription options. To that end, the division has purchased tons of new studios, including RPG heavyweights Obsidian Entertainment and long-time partner Undead Labs, while also setting up all-new studios like The Initiative.

For now, here's a rundown of every studio and all the games (we think) we know about so far.
